What is fixed or adressed since version 1.01? 1.10: - disable AGP calibration if Intel Canterwood and Springdale chipsets found 1.09: - slow done video BIOS ROM clock, fixes read problems seen on IPF 1.08: - AGP calibration, causes hangs in 3D-pipes screensaver under Windows XP 1.07: - pixel noise on secondary digital output 1.06: - power connector detection doesn't work if just secondary digital monitor is connected 1.05: - corrupted image on secondary output if digital interface is used (introduced in 1.04) 1.04: - boot up on one monitor only - slightly register changes to avoid pixel corruptions - new workstation device id - Eprom read problem seen on IPF 1.03: - add fix for primary TMDS at 1600x1200x60Hz - init table changed to fix DVI flat panel problem (secondary TMDS) at 1600x1200x60Hz - error mesage string for power connector check changed 1.02: - some memory related settings changed - add external TMDS table to support sleep states in Windows - add power connector check - external TMDS register values changed to get better image on secondary connector if digital interface is used The new checksum is 7100h. Pre-Installation Notes ---------------------- To ensure a successful bios update, it is required that your system is started using a DOS boot disk. Please expand all files to a DOS boot disk (default is "A:\"). To create a DOS boot disk, please see notes below: NOTE: DOS Startup disks can only be created in Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, Windows XP or older versions of DOS. Windows NT and Windows 2000 are not capable of creating a bootable floppy disk. In order to successfully use this update, you will need to have access to a machine running one of the before mentioned operating systems. BIOS Flash Installation Notes ----------------------------- The following steps are recommended to properly update the Fire GL X1 128 MB with this updated 11394220.110 binary ROM file: 1. Create a DOS system boot disk. Ensure that this boot disk has no AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS on it. See the above for instructions on how to do this. 2. If not already done, copy the contents of this BIOS set to the DOS system boot disk. 3. Boot the system from this disk. 4. Type "FL128A.BAT" without the quotations, followed by 5. After the flash process has completed, reboot the system. 6.
