Release Notes
-------------

This is the BIOS version 1.07 for the Fire GL 8800 128MB (Retail Version) graphics card.
Following issues fixed or addressed since version 1.00:

1.17:

- VESA modes not working at all on some systems

1.16:

- black screen on some digital flat panels at boot up
- hangs on Intel AGP 8x dualprocessor systems, if AGP Fastwrite ist enabled and
   driver below 3046 is used. If using Intel AGP 8x uniprocessor systems you need driver higher or equal 3046.

1.14:

- read ROM with long peaks
- memory settings changed for better yield
- ViewSonic VG191 text corruption
- noise seen on several digital flat panel monitors in resolutions
  1600x1200 and 1280x1024x75Hz, if digital interface is used
  Following drivers are also required:
  * Windows NT 4.0 driver version 4.00.1381.3036 or higher
  * Windows 2000 driver version 5.12.2195.3036 or higher 
  * Windows XP driver version 6.12.10.3036 or higher
  It is fixed at all just w/ PCB -20 and higher
- VESA function 4f05h, wrong DX value if greater than 0xff

1.12:

- memory settings changed for better yield
- VESA ddc code (4f10h)

1.11:

- VGA sync problem on flat panel HP L1720
- Memory settings changed for better yield

The checksum is 0a200h.


Pre-Installation Notes
----------------------

To ensure a successful bios update, it is required that your system is started 
using a DOS boot disk.

Please expand all files to a DOS boot disk (default is "A:\").
To create a DOS boot disk, please see notes below:

NOTE:  DOS Startup disks can only be created in Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, 
Windows Me, Windows XP or older versions of DOS. Windows NT and Windows 2000 are not 
capable of creating a bootable floppy disk.  In order to successfully use this update, you 
will need to have access to a machine running one of the before mentioned 
operating systems.


BIOS Flash Installation Notes
-----------------------------

The following steps are recommended to properly update the Fire GL 8800 128MB (Retail Version)
with this updated '11390604.107' binary ROM file:

1.  Create a DOS system boot disk.  Ensure that this boot disk has no AUTOEXEC.BAT
    or CONFIG.SYS on it.  See the above for instructions on how to do this.
2.  If not already done, copy the contents of this BIOS set to the DOS system boot disk.
3.  Boot the system from this disk.
4.  Type  "FL128R.BAT" without the quotations, followed by <ENTER>
5.  After the flash process has completed, reboot the system.
6.  System BIOS update has been completed.
